The Brewers Association announced very strong sales for the first half of 2015. Craft beer continues to grow. The undisputed King of Beers, Budweiser and it’s little cousin Bud Light,  have shown waning sales these past years, but this recent report is one of their biggest to date.

Wall Street Journal reports that AB InBev’s net profit fell from $2.8 billion to $1.9 billion, in the 2nd quarter of this year. In comparison, craft beer went from 10.6 million barrels to 12.2 million barrels over the year before, or about 1.5 million more barrels.

Let’s do some math and assume that all those beers are selling for an average of $5 a pint. There are 228 pints in a barrel, or $1040 per barrel. $1040 x 1.5 million is….drumroll…….$1.7 billion in extra revenue from 2014-2015. How much of that $1.7 billion came from Big Beer? We hope a lot.
