I am saddened to inform you that Maggie’s Pub will be closing its doors next month. Our last day will be Saturday, August 12th. I recently received notice of a substantial increase in our rent. Unfortunately, this left us with two options; either move or close. As many of you know, I am expecting a baby in August. I had plans to sell the business sometime this year, but never intended to close our doors. If this had happened under different circumstances, I would have moved the business to a new location in Ferndale. With a baby due in just 3 weeks, I am unable start over in a new location at this time. I am so disappointed to leave Ferndale without a craft-beer focused establishment. Hopefully someone will open a new craft-beer joint here soon!
We will be moving all of the restaurant equipment and furnishings into a storage unit the second half of August. I am not sure what the next step will be for me after maternity leave. Re-opening in a new location is unlikely, but not out of the question. If anyone is interested in opening a taphouse in Ferndale, I am currently accepting offers for an asset sale and am still open to selling the Maggie’s Pub name.
Thank you SO much for supporting Maggie’s Pub the last 5 years! It has been an honor to be a part of the local beer scene for so long. It’s such a friendly community to be a part of! It’s amazing how much it’s grown since I started. I have really enjoyed working with all the local breweries and distributors. Thank you for supplying Maggie’s with so many awesome beers! Thank you Bellingham Tap Trail for putting Maggie’s Pub on the map! I’ve met so many fun people that may not have ever found me without a spot on the trail.
A huge thank you goes out to all of the employees I’ve had over the years. You all rock and I couldn’t have done it without you! A special thanks to my family who helped behind the scenes in countless ways. To my customers, you have become family to me. I can’t imagine what life is going to be like without seeing you across the bar every day. It’s been so rewarding getting to know so many wonderful people. I will truly miss seeing all your wonderful faces! I hope to see all of you around town at some of our fine breweries as soon as I’m not “drinking for two”. It’s been such a fun 5 years serving the town of Ferndale. I would really love to see everyone at least once more before we close. Please stop by and visit us sometime in the next 3 weeks!
