ST-Block-Party-Poster_web (1)Fairhaven Stones Throw Brewing burst onto the Bellingham brewery scene officially on April 5th of this year. They’ve quickly become a Fairhaven darling for their unique brewhouse design, friendly service and owners and beers inspired by adventure and local locations. After throwing their Grand Opening party they are ready to bring more fun and pints to Bellingham and Fairhaven.

This Saturday, May 28th 12-8pm, during Ski to Sea weekend, Stones Throw will be throwing another bash with their Stones Throw Block Party. The event falls one day after Boundary’s Annual Ski to Sea Block Party this Friday! Make sure you attend both!

Head Brewer, Tony Luciano, told us they have teamed up with local culinary legend Knut Christiansen, of Bellingham’s Paellaworks, to roast a pig that is currently running around in Lynden.

Knut told Tap Trail,

[The pig] will be dry rubbed with sea salt and juniper and braised with Stone Throw’s pale ale, local strawberries and fireweed honey. Old World Deli is supplying some awesome salads to go with the whole mess. It comes with a bun if you feel like making a ‘sammy’.

Tony told Tap Trail that they will have the whole street shutdown out front of the brewery at 1009 Larrabee 12657760_456232644585064_5400685857814528186_oAve. Accompanying the release of Stones Throw’s Fairhaven Park Tr-ALE will be music from some of Bellingham’s biggest bands, including Yogoman Burning Band, Misty Flowers, Badd Dog Blues Society, Devilly Brothers and Julian Macdonough and Delvon Lamarr.

Luciano said there would be street-side bar taps, so wait time for beer would be kept to a minimum. Bellingham’s newest food truck, Cubano Cubano, will be slanging the best cuban food, to accompany Fairhaven Pizza delivery’s and and, or course, the pig roast.

Christiansen said the pig will be roasted in a “pig box.” I’ve actually used one of these and they do a fantastic job! To get in on this pig you’ll have to go to Stones Throw and buy a limited $15 ticket.

Proceeds from the sales of the Fairhaven Park Tr-ALE will go to benefit Recreation NW Fairhaven Park Strewardship Program.

Executive Director of Recreation NW, Todd Elsworth told Tap Trail

Our partnership with Stones Throw began last year with their support of phase one of our Fairhaven Park Trail project. They gave our volunteer crews a refreshing taste of what was going to come at their budding location.

Taking it one step further, they are dedicating a tap to help with donations for phase two of our community trail. Now you can drink your fill of the delicious Fairhaven Park TrAle and give a buck to move the old trail out of the mud and build a wetland boardwalk for people to access the network of trails in Fairhaven’s urban forest.”

This August, Stones Throw will once again host our post work parties if you want to lend a hand and have some fun with our trail building crews. We are delighted to be partnering with Stones Throw and Fairhaven’s “Closest Pint to Adventure.”

Tony Luciano, Jack Plueger and the Stones Throw crew have created something very unique in Fairhaven. They have quickly become a part of the community, just like another community oriented brewery that celebrated 2 years last weekend. They’re creating relationships and partnerships that will only enrich and strengthen, Fairhaven, Bellingham and the rest of the Tap Trail.

Make sure to grab the family, a few friends and head down this Saturday for a day of fun, music, beers and pig at Stones Throw. Don’t for get pig tickets at the brewery!
