Tap Trail is a craft beer whirlwind that is going 365 days a year. We constantly have projects, business development, campaigns, writing, design and business management to attend to that keeps things going. We’re also expanding into some new projects this fall (stay tuned!)
The four of us run this little craft beer media empire while we simultaneously try to manage our daily obligations and day jobs. What little time is left – there isn’t any – we allocate to our personal lives.
We need help! What better way to find it than from our readers? We have two jobs we’re looking to fill with some special people.
These aren’t full time jobs. They’re not even part time jobs. We could call them “spot jobs.” You’re also a contracted 1099 employee. You’re applying because you want some extra cash, dig the beer scene, want to get more engaged with it, learn more about it and want to work for a cool company.
The Gig: Tap Trail distributes our maps across Bellingham. We need our maps to hit all our locations around Bellingham. We need a Distribution Manager to stop in map locations, get to know the flow of map pickup frequency, stay on top of demand, keep our spreadsheet up to date and distribute as needed. You need to ensure our maps are properly displayed at all locations. Are they in the wrong place? You’re comfortable moving them and asking questions. Could they be in a better location with more visibility? You make it happen.
Who you are: A definition of “demon” is “a forceful, fierce, or skillful performer of a specified activity.” You like people. You’re personable. You create relationships. You enjoy and are engaged in Bellingham’s craft beer scene. You’re a self starter. You have spare time and want to a little extra cash. You know how to use a Google Spreadsheet.
Who we are: Tap Trail is the region’s #1 craft beer media company. We distribute a biannual map across Bellingham and Whatcom County. We run a well trafficked website that cover local, regional and national craft beer news. We’re run by four craft beer and community fanatics. We’re fun to work with.

The Gig: We set a number of articles you get to write in a month. You mainly drive what you’re going to write about and run it by the Editor. You write with a voice that reflects the Tap Trail culture. Four articles a month with flexibility to write more and to cover longer form articles on assignment. Long form articles get higher pay.
Who you are: You like to write. You actually can write. You don’t take yourself, or your love of craft beer too seriously. You are engaged with Bellingham’s craft beer scene and are ingrained in its culture. You are a self-starter with ideas and a point of view that you think others would be interested in reading about. You can meet deadlines. You are driven by what’s happening, who’s moving around, who’s getting hired, style trends and the direction Bellingham’s craft beer scene. You AREN’T interested in writing beer reviews. You like to write about human interest stories and getting to know the people within the craft beer scene and what’s happening. You like in-depth research on topics ranging from hops, to malt, beer travel, to craft beer distribution, craft beer business and cool stuff like that!
