There is no denying the crossover of the outdoors and craft beer. It’s even more apparent in a town like Bellingham that is a haven for outdoor adventure enthusiasts and one of the most active craft beer communities in the US. Bellingham has long been ranked as one of the top outdoor communities in the US by National Geographic and Outside Magazine. That’s why the multi-city 5Point Film Festival, an adventure film festival, will be stopping in Bellingham, October 15th-17th, for the 3rd straight year. As Executive Director Sarah Wood told the Cascadia Weekly,
We are creating a unique experience with Bellingham. It is a great fit, and we look forward to celebrating the best adventure stories with this vibrant community.
The 5Point Film Festival is a three day event taking place throughout Bellingham. 30 Films will celebrate art and community through short adventure films. The event is more like a live interactive art show than a cinematic event. It will include not only films, but music, a dance party, speakers, kid’s events, beer (oh there will be beer!) and even a Van Life Rally, where you’ll see the best converted live-in adventure vans around!
5Point will be a Tap Trail Special Event! Bring your Tap Trail map and ask for our event stamp. When you turn in your Passport with 17 stamps, you’ll be entered to win our $500 Grand Prize.
Tap Takeover and Ticket Launch
To start the festival off, 5Point has teamed up with Sierra Nevada Brewing Company for a tap-takeover at Elizabeth Station, Thursday Oct. 15th 5-8pm for the outdoor film festival’s ticket launch.
Tickets will be sold at the Tap Takeover for a special pre-show rate of $15.
Taps will be filled with a plethora of fine offerings including Barrel Aged Narwhal, Barrel Aged Dubbel, Oktoberfest, Tumbler, Schwarzbier and Hop Hunter. They will also be offering discounted 32oz crowler fills of Sierra Nevada for only $5.
Be prepared to play and win Cascades Outdoor Trivia with the American Alpine Institute. The winner will take home some Outdoor Research gear and a special AAI clinic.
