We had no idea how our #snapsontap competition would go. Our only goal was to give away awesome beer to Tap Trail followers as a thank you for your endless support and making Bellingham a premiere craft beer destination. Well, the response from all of you was awesome!
We’re excited to award our first #snapsontap winner, Brandon Fralic, who runs the blog Beers at the Bottom. There were so many entries! Nearly all of them were submitted via Instagram. The rules of the competition were to capture the “spirit of Tap Trail” and Brandon’s photo showed they really put some love into it.
The Winning Photo
That’s a whole family (and extended family) showing their love for Bellingham’s breweries (and even a little Tap Trail love!). Brandon told me he heard about the competition from our site and “read between the lines a bit.” He planned the whole thing out, got stickers and gear and was ready to go when they attended a holiday party. He also said everyone in the picture – of drinking age- will get a pick from the $100 gift basket. What did they win? They won this awesome selection of beers from Elizabeth Station!
We received a lot of entries, but the ones that stuck out where those that were more than photos of pints, beer bottles and cans. Tap Trail is an amalgamation of beer, people and culture. There are some talented photographers out there!
Lastly, we wanted to give a special shout-out to everyone that submitted a photo on Instagram. The photo competition sparked some amazing innovation. Plick’s Flicks even made a video that was inspired by the competition.
No, you don’t need to show any Tap Trail swag to win the competition, but you do need to capture our town’s collective spirit. It’s a tough thing to do in one photo and we think this inaugural competition will help to raise the bar! Show some love, people, perspective and connectivity in your photos. We’re planning on doing this again, so make sure to bring it.
Give a big congrats to Brandon when you see him next. Stay tuned because he’s doing some awesome stuff we’ll be telling you about in the future. He’s a hell of a guy and we’re happy to have him represent us for this competition. Stay tuned for details on our next #snapsontap competition!
