Late last week Tap Trail stopped in Boundary Bay Brewery and grabbed a pint with some of the good folks there. King 5 news was there to do a story on the heartwarming and important story behind Barb’s Beer. Tom and Barb Murphy used to frequent Boundary Bay Brewery before her death from lung cancer in 2013. Not only was Barb an accomplished marathon runner, she was a lover of craft beer.

In her name, Janet Lightner General Manager of Boundary Bay Brewery, helped create Barb’s Beer. It’s a program dedicated to raising funds for the non-profit GRACE. The program has already raised over $10,000 for the research program. It’s available in Bellingham at Boundary Bay Brewery La Fiamma. Also in Seattle at Belltown Pub, Serious Pie and Tutta Bella restaurants.

This important program is another amazing community project supported by Boundary Bay Brewery. Boundary won Washington State’s highest philanthropic awards for a small business in 2014.
