Bellingham Beer Week is coming in mid-September and it’s going to be the biggest year yet. As always, Bellingham’s breweries got together and brewed up BBW’s collaborative brew. This year it was hosted at Chuckanut Brewing. Chuckanut teamed up with Aslan Brewing, North Fork Brewing and some of Bellingham’s newest breweries, Stones Throw and Gruff.

Update: The collaboration is a NW Lager made with Skagit Valley Alba and Copeland Malt. They used Yakima Valley Mt Hood, Chinook, Cascade and Amarillo hops. Uses lager yeast and will be introduced at the Bellingham Tap Takeover in Vancouver, BC on Aug 31 at the Alibi Room and September 3 in Seattle at Naked City. Then it will be sold in our breweries and beer bars during the September 11-21 Bellingham Beer Week. Very limited supply

Chuckanut Owner Mari Kemper sent me these pictures and let me know about some awesome news and events they’ll be hosting at Chuckanut for Bellingham Beer Week:

  • Sept. 12th – Oktoberfest
  • Sept. 15th – BookTalk with Dick Cantwell

In case you are unawares, Dick Cantwell is the former co-owner of Elysian Brewing. He stayed on after AbInBev bought them out. After the infamous Super Bowl ad, he expressed his concerns about his new employers then eventually resigned from Elysian to move onto other things. The talk is not to be missed!
