So many accolades for Bellingham breweries lately and this is another one. Men’s Journal drops the occasional craft beer article and I’ve actually been impressed by the breadth of their suggestions and choices in these lists. They certainly put their time in.

The article goes into each and every state and picks the best beers. This year, Men’s Journal chose Chuckanut’s Pilsner and, rightfully so. Chuckanut Brewery is regarded as one of the best lager brewers in the world. Chuckanut has a ridiculous list of awards in both national and international competition confirm that. They are known for brewing better lagers than the Germans. That’s a hell of an accolade.

Thrillist put Chuckanut Brewery in it’s Best Brewery in American Competition. It lost to Russian River, but they put up a valiant fight. And who listens to those lists anyway, am’iright?! So with that being said, here’s what this list said about Chuckanut:

Washington: Chuckanut Pilsner

Washington: Chuckanut Pilsner

Brewer: Chuckanut Brewery

Style: German Pilsner

At this Bellingham, Washington, brewery, Will Kemper focuses on style-defining European-style beers like dunkels and helles lagers, as well as this well-bittered pilsner. It’s the tingly, floral best friend to Thai and Mexican cuisine, but swirl it around your tongue once, and you’ll pick up on the deep array of malt and hops that’s earned it a pair of Great American Beer Fest medals.

Modest writeup that fails to mention the amazing international recognition the brewery has received. Including it’s World Beer Cup Championship awards.
