Join us on Earth Day for an evening of terrarium building, upcycling and beer garden history!
Bring your own terrarium-making materials, or bring a vessel to plant in (old jam jars, glass containers and even empty growlers are an acceptable habitat!) and choose from the babygreens pop-up shop’s selection of succulents, air plants and terrarium bundles. Plant extraordinaire Elle from babygreens will be teaching us how to build these lovely little ecosystems!
Visitors can also bring old beer cans or other recycled items to turn into planters and candle-holders.
Afterward, enjoy “Spruce it up with Bruce,” where long-time Boundary Bay employee Bruce Kale will share the hilarious history of “Bellingham’s Backyard,” the Boundary Bay Beer Garden, as well as discuss the numerous plant and flower species it hosts and how it came to be a Certified Wildlife Habitat.
Sage Against the Machine food truck will also be in attendance, serving up some delicious plant-based bites and teaching us more about how our eating habits can help Mother Nature flourish.
The Garden Bar will be open and popsicles for the little ones will be available for purchase, so bring the whole family down for this evening of fun!
