It feels good when our local breweries do good. And they do so much good. From donating beer to local events to donating money and time, they give so much. Kulshan Brewery is one of those very fine breweries. For the last four years they’ve teamed up with Whatcom Hospice Foundation. Hospice is a potentially little understood service.
Hospice is end of life care. When you need someone there the most, hospice provides comfortable end of life services, regardless of ability to pay. That last part is important. As an organization that helps those with less means in their most vulnerable time – the last moments of their life – they need to rely on strong community ties to help raise money for what they do. Hospice has been a great benefit to my family and I love knowing organizations like this exist. Let’s help them continue to exist.
On Friday, February 3, Bellingham’s Lumber and Lace Ball along with Kulshan Brewing Company invites you to join them at Kulshan Brewing Company on James Street (K1) from 4-10 pm for a special release of the Lumber & Lace ‘Bootstrap Brown’, the official beer of the ball! Beginning Friday the 3rd through the month of February, a portion of all Bootstrap Brown pint sales will go directly to The Lumber and Lace Ball which benefits the Whatcom Hospice Foundation.
Brewed for that “boot-stomping good time” we are excited to introduce the Lumber and Lace Ball Bootstrap Brown. “Kulshan Brewing Company’s Bootstrap Brown is full of aroma that includes layers of chocolate, roast, toasted bread and a delicate touch of earthy mint that complements and enhances the overall flavor. A moderate body with dark malt flavors that highlight a soft sweetness and a balanced toasty flavor (ABV 5.31% IBU 26). “
About the Lumber and Lace Ball: Bellingham’s 4th annual Lumber and Lace Ball will be held on Saturday, March 4th at the Majestic Ballroom from 6:00 pm-11:30 pm, in support of the Whatcom Hospice Foundation. The ball was created to inspire younger generations to get involved, and celebrate those who have supported or benefited from hospice services, all while raising money for our local Whatcom Hospice Foundation.
The Lumber and Lace Ball is an early 1900’s Northwest themed event featuring boot-stompin’ live music, dance instruction, old-fashion photographs, period style hair-do’s, a beard competition, silent auction, 50/50 raffle, and much more!
Last year, over 220 guests attended the event and over $8,000 was raised for the Foundation to support Hospice Services. Tickets for the event are on sale now at Brown Paper Tickets and will be available at both Kulshan locations beginning February 3rd. Advanced tickets include a free drink!
A limited number of the special release of the Lumber and Lace Ball Boot Strap Brown will be available at select locations in Bellingham, Ferndale and Glacier.
