Bellingham Beer Week kicked off and we’re hearing the events are going just splendidly! So many more events are scheduled.
Bellingham Beer in Denver is scheduled for the Great American Beer Festival. Tap Trail, Melvin Brewing and Skagit Valley Malt helped fund the prize package. Chuckanut’s South Nut location, in the Skagit Valley Innovation Zone, had its soft opening. The official opening will be sometime closer to October.

Black Gold (Blackberry Kölsch)

4.4% ABV // 13 IBU // 1.042 OG

light body + fresh blackberries + mild

Brewed specifically for Bellingham Beer Week 2016, this Kölsch style ale was conditioned on 200lbs of fresh organic blackberries. The fruit turned this once straw colored beer pink, and gave it a subtle, yet defined fruit note. A mild acidity gives way to a beautifully balanced sweetness that perfectly defines this brew.

Hops: Czech Saaz, Sterling
Malt: Continental Pilsner
Adjuncts: Blackberries
